Jazz-O-Matic-Four was founded in 1973 by Hein Denekamp, a cornet player from Amsterdam. He invented the unique composition of the band: cornet, bass saxophone, piano and drums (later replaced by a banjo). Three of these four instruments can perform the rhythm function, while all four instruments also play solo. This makes the band seem larger than it is, hence the nickname `The World's Smallest Big Band'.

Our Sound
The Jazz-O-Matic-Four play music from the period 1915-1940, both jazz classics and evergreens. The instrumentation ensures that the characteristic group sound is allways in evidence, irrespective of the chosen repertoire.
